My band hired a new percussionist named Jacques, and it makes us wonder if we can make people sound more civilized and refined by simply giving them the French-equivalent of their name. “Jacques” is the equivalent of Jack, Jake and Jacob, and “Jacqui” means Jacqueline and Jackie. Just because we like our drummer so much, we thought we’d start with his name. Our mission is to make the world a little more sophisticated.
