The boxer, and later comedian, was portrayed by Robert DeNiro in the film Raging Bull. My personal favorite moment in the film is not the boxing sequence, but the character’s monologue in the end, which is clumsy, contrived, but oddly endearing. this guy was a really amazing drummer in the late 60s and early 70s. he played with miles davis and appeared on bitches brew. unfortunately as the 80s came, he got into new age cheeseball music. too bad. he had promise.
